In Chora (Mykonos Town), the Capital of Mykonos

Chora, also known as Mykonos Town, is the main town of Mykonos.

There, you will find typical greek architecture: small white houses with blue shutters, and pretty cobbled alleys lined with shops!

The area around the port of Chora as well as the Little Venice district, with its waterside houses, are particularly beautiful and pleasant.

In Chora, you’ll find a good selection of bars, cafes, and restaurants and will be walking distance to Megali Ammos Beach

If you’re looking for a typical place to stay in Mykonos, this is the best choice!

I recommend Chora for accommodation in Mykonos:

• If you want to be close to everything
• For shopping
• If you want to enjoy a lively atmosphere
• If budget isn’t a concern or you really want to treat yourself to a romantic weekend in Mykonos.

Where to Stay in Chora/Mykonos Town?

• Matogianni Hotel: Located right in the center of Chora. Double room starting at 145€. Strong points: ideally placed, comfortable beds, very clean. This is an excellent choice for budget-friendly accommodation in Mykonos, in the most sought-after area!
• Fabrikas: Situated just a 5-minute walk from Chora beach and the entrance to the pedestrian area. Spacious double room with sea view starting at 200€, with a round-trip airport or port transfer included! Strong points: private parking, warm welcome, well-equipped.
• She Mykonos Boutique Hotel: Located 2 minutes away on foot from the old harbor. Modern and stylish double room starting at 265€, breakfast included. Strong points: the pool with sea view, the decor, the excellent breakfast with plenty of choices.
• Poseidon Hotel Suites: Only 50 meters from the beach and overlooking the famous windmills of Mykonos. Double room with balcony and beautiful view, from 330€ with breakfast included. Strong points: transfer from the airport or port provided, the excellent breakfast, the pool. This is the ideal place to stay in Mykonos for couples!
• Semeli Hotel Mykonos: Located a 5-minute walk from Little Venice neighborhood, this 5-star hotel offers rooms with minimalist decor featuring exposed stone, starting at 500€, breakfast included. Strong points: the beautiful pool area with jacuzzi, the Spa, the delicious breakfast, some rooms with private jacuzzi. This is the perfect 5-star hotel to stay in Mykonos for your honeymoon or a luxury romantic getaway!

Paradise Beach for Party Life in Mykonos

Paradise Beach, located in the south of Mykonos, is the most famous and trendy beach on the island,

It’s the venue for all the parties that have given Mykonos its reputation as the most festive island in Greece!

Here, you’ll find bars, clubs, and nightclubs for dancing and drinking till the early hours.

So it’s an excellent choice for accommodation in Mykonos if you’re looking to party! But yes, I admit, you might not actually get much sleep, or maybe you will, but during the day. 😅

Moreover, when daylight comes, the beach becomes peaceful again and the perfect spot for swimming in crystal-clear waters. There, you can also try a variety of water sports.

Paradise Beach is ideal for staying in Mykonos:

• If you want to enjoy the lively nightlife
• For a Mykonos trip with friends (what happens in Mykonos stays in Mykonos 😆).

Where to Stay in Paradise Beach, on the Island of Mykonos?

• New Paradise Beach Resort: Located right in front of the beach. Spacious and comfortable double rooms with sea view, some with a private pool starting from €250, breakfast included. Strong points: the beautiful view, the delicious breakfast, the friendly staff, the free airport shuttle, just next to clubs like Tropicana. This is definitely the best hotel to stay in Mykonos for party-goers!
• Paradise View Hotel: Located 300 meters from Paradise Beach. Double rooms decorated in the typical Cycladic style with whitewashed walls starting from €260, breakfast included. Strong points: the location next to the beach, the quality of service, the infinity pool. For me, it’s one of the best value for money accommodations at Paradise Beach.
• Eden View Suites & Villas: Situated 200 meters from Paradise Beach. Modern suites and villas each boasting a private outdoor pool and sea views starting from €350. Strong points: the fantastic view, the hotel’s concierge service that also handles restaurant and beach booking, very comfortable, spacious. A very nice luxury hotel to stay in Mykonos by the sea!

In Ornos Village, Southwest of Mykonos

The village of Ornos is located in the Southwest of Mykonos, just a 10-minute drive from Chora and 12 minutes from Paradise Beach.

It’s ideally situated between two bays, thus providing access to 2 small sandy beaches: Ornos beach with its clear shallow waters and Korfos beach.

You should stay here if you’re looking to be close to the beach, or if you want to stay in Mykonos by the sea.

It’s also a great place to stay in Mykonos for a family vacation, if you’re seeking somewhere relatively quiet while having numerous dining options.

The area is also home to some of the most beautiful luxury hotels in Mykonos!

Here’s my selection of the best hotels to stay in on the Southwest coast of Mykonos

• Mykonos Cactus: Located 250 meters from the beach. Spacious and bright double rooms starting from €170, breakfast included. Strong points: very comfortable, the pool, the friendly staff. A great option if you want to be close to the beach!
• Dreambox Mykonos Suites: A 5-minute walk from the beach. Very pleasant double rooms with a terrace or balcony starting from €210, breakfast included. Strong points: the pool with sea view, the à la carte breakfast, the quiet location. Another excellent choice to stay in Mykonos near the beach.
• Mykonos Ammos Hotel – Small Luxury Hotels of the World: A 5-star hotel located right on the beach. Double rooms with clean decoration starting from €440, breakfast included. Strong points: the private beach, the Spa, the quality services, the exceptional location.
• Kivotos Mykonos: Located on a private beach, this 5-star hotel offers luxurious and typical rooms starting from €480, breakfast included. Strong points: the view, the setting, the tranquility.
• Aeonic Suites and Spa: This magnificent 5-star hotel is located in the small bay of Korfos Ornos, close to the beach. In Agios Stefanos, Northwest of Mykonos

Agios Stefanos is located in the northwest of the island, a few kilometers north of Mykonos Town.

This is where you’ll arrive if you’re coming to Mykonos by ferry from Athens or any other Greek islands like Santorini or Naxos, for example.

Agios Stefanos is a very nice small village, featuring a beautiful sandy beach where you can rent sun loungers and umbrellas. You’ll also find a few really nice Greek taverns here.

It’s a part of Mykonos that has kept its authenticity and charm!

It’s a great place to stay in Mykonos if you want to avoid the most touristy areas.

Where to stay in Agios Stefanos, on the island of Mykonos?

• Flaskos Suites and more: Located close to the beach. Sea view studio starting from 140€. Strong points: the very quiet location, the view, the friendly staff.
• Mykonos Princess Hotel: Also located next to Agios Stefanos beach. Luxury hotel offering rooms with sea view starting from 250€, breakfast included. Strong points: the quality of the meals, the charm of the place and pool area, the professionalism of the staff. The perfect hotel for a romantic stay in Mykonos!
• Mykonos Soul Luxury Suites: Located 2 km from the port. Room with hot tub or private pool starting from 360€. Strong points: the beautiful setting, the generous breakfast, the attentive staff.
• Amyth of Mykonos Agios Stefanos: This 5* hotel is only a 5-minute walk from the beach. Suite with jacuzzi and sea view starting from 460€, breakfast included. Strong points: the intimate atmosphere, the excellent bedding, the caring staff. This is the best hotel for a luxury stay in Agios Stefanos!

At Elia Beach, Southeast of Mykonos

Elia Beach is located east of Paradise Beach, just a few kilometers away.

With its fine sand and turquoise waters, it’s considered the most beautiful beach in Mykonos!

There, you will find plenty of beach bars renting sun loungers and umbrellas.

You might even be lucky enough to relax in the sun next to a celebrity, as it’s frequented by many jet-setters from around the world!

Elia beach is also a great place to do water sports such as jet-skiing, or take advantage of a day at the nearby water park, Watermania.

Where to stay near Elia Beach (Mykonos)?

• Yi Hotel Mykonos: Located 1.5 km from the beach. Tastefully decorated double room with a balcony starting from 250€, breakfast included. Strong points: beautiful pool, close to the beach, the restaurant.
• Myconian Avaton, a Member of Design Hotels: This 5* hotel offers very beautiful spacious rooms with sea views starting from 350€, breakfast included. Strong points: the private beach, the view of the bay, the shuttle to the beach or Mykonos Town, DJ at the pool.
• Elia Mykonos Resort: Luxury hotel located directly on Elia Beach. You’ll stay in beautifully designed rooms starting from 400€, breakfast included. Strong points: the delicious restaurant, the location, the spa, direct access to the beach. An great choice for a luxury stay in Mykonos!

Where to Stay in Mykonos on a Budget

As you may have noticed, accommodation prices in Mykonos are quite high. Fortunately, with a bit of searching, you can still find a few places to stay in Mykonos on a budget.

Here is my selection of the best budget hotels in Mykonos:

• Paradise Beach Camping: This campsite is located directly on Paradise Beach. It offers wooden cabins for 2 people starting from 70€. At this price point, showers and facilities are shared. However, access to the private beach and the nightclub is included! Book this only if you’re going to Mykonos to party, as the music blares from 4pm all through the night! This is a great choice for budget beachfront accommodation in Mykonos!
• Mykonian Iros Suites & Villas: Located north of Elia Beach. Double rooms start at 85€, breakfast included. Strong points: the pool, the tranquility. This is my favorite for its excellent value for money!
• Anais: Situated between Chora and Ornos. Studios with a kitchenette start at 90€. Strong points: the friendliness of the staff, the peaceful environment, proximity to Mykonos town center. One of the most affordable accommodations in Mykonos!

Where to Stay in Mykonos with Family

• Jewel Apartments Mykonos: Located in Ornos. Spacious apartments with terrace that can accommodate up to 7 people, starting from 190€. Strong points: 5-minute walk to the beach and restaurants, parking, location. An excellent hotel for a family stay in Mykonos.
• Mykonos Pantheon: Just a 5-minute walk from the beach. Quadruple rooms start at 240€, breakfast included. Strong points: the view, the delicious breakfast, the infinity pool. A great place to stay in Mykonos with family.
• Deliades Hotel: Located in Ornos. Rooms can accommodate up to 4 people, starting from 450€, breakfast included. Strong points: the hospitality, comfort, room size. Another fine choice for family lodging in Mykonos.
