These 3 districts are the historic and commercial heart of Buenos Aires.

Known for its blend of colonial architecture and modern skyscrapers, this part of the city is especially lively during the day, with its shopping streets, historic cafés, and government buildings.

It’s the most dynamic and central area of Buenos Aires!

This district is an ideal place to stay in Buenos Aires:

  • To be close to all the main attractions
  • To enjoy easy access to public transportation, including Retiro Station and several subway stations
  • To discover Argentinian history and culture
  • For a first trip to Buenos Aires

The district is perfect for discovering:

  • Plaza de Mayo and Casa Rosada, the historical and political center of Argentina

  • Libertador Hotel: A 5-star hotel located right next to Plaza San Martin. Classic style spacious double rooms from 170$, breakfast included. Strong points: heated indoor pool on the top floor, generous breakfast, location. A beautiful luxury hotel at a reasonable price.
  • Alvear Art Hotel: This luxury hotel is also next to the large park on Plaza San Martin. It offers elegant rooms with marble bathrooms from 210$, breakfast for 26$. Strong points: indoor pool with panoramic view, comfort, both bathtub and shower in the bathroom. My recommendation for a high-end stay in Buenos Aires!
  • Four Seasons Hotel Buenos Aires: A luxury hotel located in the Retiro district and next to Recoleta. Enjoy staying in superb, very chic suites starting from 600$. Recoleta is one of Buenos Aires’ most elegant and safest neighborhoods.

It’s characterized by its Parisian-style buildings and its wide tree-lined avenues.
