Staying on the Las Vegas Strip
The Strip is the heart of the city.
This is where you’ll find most hotels, casinos, restaurants, shops, and entertainment venues.
Day or night, this 6 km stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard is always bustling and is THE place to visit during your stay!
Here, you’ll find all the iconic hotels, such as The Bellagio, Caesars Palace, and Luxor, each with its own unique theme and attractions.
Hotel access is not limited to guests only. You’re free to roam everywhere, shop at the many stores, and of course, visit the casinos inside (and play if you feel like it!)
If you want to capture the essence of the Strip, I highly recommend going there in the evening. The neon lights and atmosphere are truly emblematic of the Las Vegas spirit. And most of the attractions and shows can be enjoyed after sundown.
Things to do and see on the Las Vegas Strip:
- A long walk to discover the hotels and their incredible interiors
- Shopping
- Gambling at the casino
- Watching the Bellagio fountain show.
- Checking out the Las Vegas Sphere, located nearby
- The Eiffel Tower viewing deck, at Paris Las Vegas Hotel. You should visit at night to enjoy the illuminated city!
- A ride on the High Roller Ferris wheel
- Ascending to the top of the STRAT Tower for a view over the Strip
- Going to a Cirque du Soleil show, like “O” at the Bellagio (book here!), a water-themed production
- A gondola ride along the Grand Canal at The Venetian Hotel
- A zipline descent over the LINQ Promenade, right next to the Strip
- Visiting the Las Vegas Aquarium
- Hop-On Hop-Off bus tour
- A helicopter flight
Here’s My Selection of the Best Hotels on the Strip in Las Vegas
*Just a note: In Las Vegas, prices can skyrocket over weekends or if there’s a special event during the week.
For example, you might spend one night at Caesars Palace for $140 and the next day, it could be $1600. That’s why I specify that prices “start from”.
So just keep in mind that they can vary significantly (and it’s not my fault 😅).
- Caesars Palace Hotel & Casino: This famous 5-star hotel on the Strip offers rooms starting from $140. Strong points: its architecture, beautiful pools, pleasant and clean rooms. This famous hotel offers an excellent value for money!
- Treasure Island Hotel & Casino: Double room starting from $170. Strong points: spacious room, refrigerator in the room, excellent location on the Strip, automatic check-in to avoid waiting, private parking.
- Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino: Hotel located opposite the Eiffel Tower. Double room starting from $225. Strong points: good restaurants, room and hotel decoration, very comfortable.
- Las Vegas Hilton at Resorts World: Double room starting from $290. Strong points: the room and facilities are brand new, the pool is superb, the bed is very comfortable, the hotel is very clean. An excellent choice for a romantic stay in Las Vegas.
- Bellagio: It would be impossible not to mention Bellagio in my selection of the most beautiful hotels in Las Vegas! The hotel offers luxurious rooms starting from $480. Strong points: very luxurious, the perfect location to explore the Strip, the view over the fountains. Simply the best luxury hotel in Las Vegas!
In Downtown Las Vegas District
Downtown district corresponds to the oldest part of Las Vegas.
This is where the very first casinos, such as the Golden Gate Hotel & Casino, which opened in 1906, were located.
In Downtown, the action centers around Fremont Street Experience.
This pedestrian-only area, located in the city center of Vegas, is famous for its huge LED canopy stretching the length of the street, providing a light show every evening from 6 PM to 2 AM.
Street performers, live music, and plenty of shops and restaurants make it an ideal place to have fun for a few hours.
You should also take advantage of your visit to Fremont Street to try the famous SlotZilla zip line.
You can choose between two ways to fly: the lower Zip-Zilla where you are seated, and the Super-Hero version where you fly belly-down. It’s one of the best things to do in Las Vegas!
Where to Stay in Downtown Las Vegas
- Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino: Nice and clean double room starting from $85. Strong points: pool terrace, comfortable bed, good location, large room. Great value for money in Las Vegas!
- Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino Las Vegas: Double room starting from $110. Strong points: free parking, large room.
- Circa Resort & Casino – Adults only: Double room starting from $180. Strong points: rooftop bar, pool, new and modern. The best choice for a high-end stay in Downtown Las Vegas!
Where to Stay in Las Vegas on a Budget
If you’re on a tighter budget, here’s a selection of some affordable hotels in Las Vegas:
- The D Las Vegas: Located in Downtown Las Vegas. Double rooms starting from $75. Strong points: the price, friendly staff, cleanliness, free parking. A great choice for budget accommodation in Las Vegas.
- Tahiti All-Suite Resort: Located near the Strip. Studio with kitchen area starting from $75. Strong points: the heated pool, the shuttle to the Strip, very well equipped.
- Luxor: Have you ever dreamed of sleeping in a pyramid? Well, in Las Vegas, it’s possible! Double rooms starting from $80. Strong points: helpful staff, spacious room, connections with Excalibur and Mandalay hotels. An excellent choice for affordable accommodation on Las Vegas Strip!
Where to Stay in Las Vegas with Family
- Excalibur: With its castle-like structure, it’s very popular with families and offers affordable rates starting from $70 per night. Strong points: comfortable beds, room size, price. A great choice for family-friendly accommodation in Las Vegas without breaking the bank!
You can also choose from the other hotels I’ve suggested in this guide. In Las Vegas and in the United States in general, most rooms actually feature two large double beds and can therefore easily accommodate four people.
They are also spacious, so there’s no problem adding a baby bed.
What is the best hotel in Las Vegas?
If you are looking for the best hotel in Las Vegas, I recommend you the Bellagio.
And if you’re looking for something a little more affordable but still luxurious, you shoud book a night or more at the Las Vegas Hilton at Resorts World.
