Near Walt Disney World – Lake Buena Vista Area
If you’re planning to spend a few days in Orlando during your trip to Florida, you will for sure want to experience the city’s most famous theme parks!
To stay as close as possible to Disney in Orlando, you should opt for an accommodation in Lake Buena Vista area.
You’ll be just a few minutes away from the park by car or shuttle. Some hotels even offer free transfers and/or early park access.
This is the best place to stay in Orlando to enjoy the 4 Disney parks:
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park
- Magic Kingdom Park
- EPCOT.
The Best Hotels Near Disney in Orlando
- Celebration Suites: Located 10 minutes by car from Disney World. Spacious and comfortable apartment with fully equipped kitchen starting from 120$. Strong points: ideal location, numerous nearby restaurants, laundry facility.
- Buena Vista Suites Orlando: Just 5 minutes from Walt Disney World Resort. Modern suite with separate living area, from 180$, breakfast included. Strong points: heated outdoor pool, free shuttle service to Disney, free parking, very welcoming staff. A great choice for its excellent value for money in Orlando.
- Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando – Disney Springs Area: Located at the entrance of Disney Springs shopping center. Very spacious double room with large windows from 200$, breakfast included. Strong points: very convenient park shuttle, free snack buffet from 5 PM, heated pool.
- Caribe Royale Orlando: Located 4 km from the park. Suite with contemporary and warm decor from 320$, breakfast at 25$. Strong points: beautiful pool with slide and waterfalls, tennis and basketball courts, free shuttle. It’s my recommendation for a high-end stay near Disney World!
- Walt Disney World Dolphin: Situated within the Disney complex. Comfortable and spacious room starting from 350$. Strong points: early park entry, plenty of pools, private lakefront beach, beautiful setting. The best hotel for a stay in Walt Disney park!
- ette luxury hotel & spa: This 5-star hotel (one of the few luxury hotels in Orlando) is located near Disney. It offers chic rooms with sleek decor from 480$, breakfast at 34$. Strong points: the free private parking, the pool, the very professional staff, the zen ambiance. An excellent choice for a romantic stay in Orlando!
If you plan to visit Disney World during your trip to Orlando, you should really book your park entrances in advance.

Near Universal Studios – Along International Drive
Universal Studios is the other famous theme park in Orlando, on par with Disney.
To stay nearby and avoid wasting time on transport, you should opt for a hotel located along International Drive. This expressway starts at the exit of Orlando city and passes right by Universal before also reaching Disney.
So, it’s an excellent place to stay to visit Universal Orlando and/or Disney World!
The Best Accommodations around International Drive, Orlando
- Four points by Sheraton Orlando International Drive: Just 5 minutes from Universal Studios. Cozy and comfortable double rooms starting at 125$, breakfast at 17$. Strong points: Ideally located, pool, gym, bus stops nearby.
- Holiday Inn Orlando International Dr-ICON, an IHG Hotel: Located 4 km from Universal. Spacious and modern room from 160$, breakfast at 14$. Strong points: Free shuttle to Universal and Disney, excellent location to visit all theme parks, large pool. An excellent choice for your stay in Orlando!
- Universal’s Endless Summer Resort – Surfside Inn and Suites: Just 2 minutes from the park entrance. Surf-themed room starting at 240$. Strong points: Early park admission included in the night rate, plenty of shuttles, cool pool, good restaurant. A very convenient hotel for your stay next to Universal Orlando!
The other 2 hotels I recommend below include Unlimited Universal Express passes in their nightly rate.
These passes allow you to skip the lines for all attractions at Universal Studios Florida and Universal Islands of Adventure (and they’re unlimited, so you can enjoy each attraction as many times as you wish).
The rates are therefore higher than other hotels, but considering the cost of the express passes, it’s worth it!
Additionally, you will enjoy early park admission and the boat shuttle to Universal.
For me, it’s the best choice for your stay at Universal Orlando if you’re considering getting express passes!
- Universal’s Loews Royal Pacific Resort: Very spacious double room with a seating area from 760$. In addition to the benefits I mentioned, the hotel features a pool, jacuzzis, 6 restaurants and is only a 10-minute walk from Universal City Walk, with plenty of shops and restaurants.
- Universal’s Hard Rock Hotel®: Rock music themed hotel and rooms. Starting from 940$. The atmosphere is great and so is the pool area! The best hotel near Universal Studios!
Just like for Disney World, you should really book your Universal Studios entrances in advance.

Important: The Express Pass only gives you prioritary access to the attractions, you will also need the standard entrance ticket!
This might sound a bit misleading, but it’s how it works at Universal Studios.
In Downtown Orlando
If you’re not solely interested in theme parks during your stay in Orlando, you can stay in downtown Orlando.
This way, you can explore the city center and also easily visit surrounding areas like Cape Canaveral or various springs for a day of swimming or kayaking.
Here are the best hotels in downtown Orlando
- The Delaney Hotel: Located 15 minutes on foot from Lake Eola. Spacious and cozy double room starting at 200$. Strong points: Great staff, comfort, well-located in Orlando.
- Courtyard by Marriott Orlando Downtown: Ideally located in the center. Very clean and comfortable double room from 230$, breakfast at 13$. Strong points: Pool, parking, friendly staff.
- Marriott Orlando Downtown: Also located in the heart of the city. Bright room with a quite sober decor from 250$, breakfast at 14$. Strong points: Pool, pleasant staff, next to the Arena if you’re planning to attend an NBA game.
Where to Stay in Orlando on a Budget
If you’re on a tighter budget, here’s a selection of affordable hotels in Orlando:
- Rosen Inn Lake Buena Vista: Located 10 minutes by car from Walt Disney. Room for 4 from 80$, breakfast at 16$. Strong points: multiple pools, shuttles to Disney, great location. A great budget-friendly choice for your stay in Orlando.
- Rosen Inn International Near The Parks: Located 5 minutes from Universal. Double room from 85$, breakfast at 16$. Strong points: free shuttle, cleanliness, free parking, very friendly staff.
- Rosen Inn Closest to Universal: Located just 500 meters from Universal. Spacious room from 100$, breakfast at 16$. Strong points: warm welcome, clean, shuttle service. Another great place to stay in Orlando without breaking the bank!
Where to Stay in Orlando with Family
As Orlando is a very family-friendly destination, with numerous activities for children and all the theme parks to visit, all the hotels I’ve recommended above offer family rooms.
So, you can opt for any of them!
In addition, here are a few more suggestions:
- Avanti Palms Resort and Conference Center: Located 3 km from Universal Orlando. Modern and clean room for 4 with 2 very large double beds from 110$. Strong points: great location, shuttle to Universal Studios, swimming pool.
- Hilton Vacation Club Aqua Sol Orlando West: Located 5 km from Walt Disney. Rooms with balcony and fully equipped kitchen accommodating up to 6 people from 160$. Strong points: water park with wave pool and slides, mini-golf, tennis and basketball courts, park shuttle, barbecue facilities. This is one of the best places to stay with family in Orlando!
- Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort: Located at the entrance of Universal. Family room from 300$ with early park access included. Strong points: pool with lazy river and water slides, bowling, numerous free shuttles to the parks, good restaurant. I highly recommend this place for a family stay in Orlando!

If you are looking for the best hotel in Orlando, I recommend you the Walt Disney World Dolphin.
And if you’re looking for something a little more affordable but still luxurious, you should book a night or more at the Universal’s Endless Summer Resort – Surfside Inn and Suites or at the Caribe Royale Orlando.
